Tutorial<\/a><\/p>\n

If Oil Paint is grayed out for you, try these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Make sure Photoshop is up-to-date<\/p>\n

– Make sure that your document is RGB. Oil Paint won\u2019t work on color spaces other than RGB (e.g. CMYK, Lab, etc.)<\/p>\n

– If you\u2019re on Windows, make sure you\u2019re running a 64-bit OS with the 64-bit version of Photoshop. OpenCL requires 64-bit<\/p>\n

– Make sure Use Graphics Processor is checked under Preferences > Performance\u00a0\"Van<\/p>\n

– Make sure that your video card driver is up to date with the latest from the vendor website.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0If your video card does not support OpenCL v1.1 or higher, you may need to purchase an upgraded video card that supports OpenCL v1.1 or higher to gain access to the Oil Paint filter.<\/p>\n

Information about your graphics card can be found in Photoshop\u2019s Help > System Info dialog.<\/p>\n

How to configure Photoshop to work with actions.<\/h2>\n

1. Make sure you are using the English version of Photoshop.<\/strong>\u00a0Each action has been created and optimized to work only with the English version of Photoshop, so please make sure that you are using this version. If not, don\u2019t worry: you can change the language of your version of Photoshop to English (and switch back again) using\u00a0this method<\/a><\/p>\n

2. Use the RGB mode and 8 Bits color.<\/strong>\u00a0To check these settings, go to Image->Mode and check the \u201cRGB color\u201d and \u201c8 Bits\/Channel\u201d.<\/p>\n

3. Make sure that the option \u201cAdd \u2018copy\u2019 to Copied Layers and Groups\u201d is turned on.<\/strong>\u00a0This option applies only to CS5 and later versions of Photoshop. On the \u201cLAYERS\u201d panel, click on the menu icon, go to \u201cPanel Options\u2026\u201d, and check that the \u201cAdd \u2018copy\u2019 to Copied Layers and Groups\u201d is turned on.<\/p>\n

4. Use a photo with 72dpi or higher.<\/strong>\u00a0If you are using a photo with less than 72dpi, the action will not function correctly. To fix this, go to Image->Image Size and increase the resolution value.<\/p>\n

5. Set the Opacity of brush to 100%.<\/strong>\u00a0Set the Opacity of the brush to 100%. Select the \u201cBrush Tool\u201d and move the opacity slider to 100%.<\/p>\n
